Cowboys Season Tickets Not Applicable For 2020 Due To Limited Seating

ARLINGTON, Texas (CBSDFW.COM) - The Dallas Cowboys on Thursday announced that season tickets will not be used for the 2020 season due to limited seating being made available because of the COVID-19 pandemic.

Instead, the team said it is giving current holders the option of having priority to purchase single game tickets.

The team said current holders can choose the priority purchasing option or decline it and buy them on an open platform when they are made available.

Current season ticket holders will be able to keep their seat location and benefits for the 2021 season and beyond, the team said.

"As long as we got the Cowboys and they're trying to play, that's something to look forward to every Sunday," said super fan Stoney Kersh.

Every inch of Kersh's Arlington home is covered in Cowboys' memorabilia. He started collecting when he was just four years old, but don't call him the team's number one fan.

"No, I never claim to the be the number one Cowboys fan because my dad taught me there's always someone bigger and badder out there than you are," he said. "So I just claim to be one of the world's biggest Cowboys fan."

Season tickets won't be available this year since capacity at AT&T Stadium will be limited to no more than 50 percent, per the governor's order.

The NFL is allowing each team to determine its own policy for attendance at the games this season. The New York Giants and the New York Jets have been banned from having fans in the stands.

In these unprecedented times, Kersh says America needs America's team. He's grateful at least some people will get to cheer on the Cowboys in person.

"We'll get to some games," Kersh said. "It's just going to be weird it not being a full stadium."

AT&T Stadium has one of the largest capacities in the NFL, but it's unclear right now just how many fans the Cowboys will let inside on game day.
