Cowboys Need 'Avail-Ability', Sign Two Linebackers

OXNARD (105.3 THE FAN) - "The best kind of 'ability'," Jerry Jones is suddenly fond of saying, "is 'avail-ability'." And in that sense, the Cowboys just "improved" themselves, I suppose, with the shift of Rolando McClain and Randy Gregory to the did-not-report list and the signing of linebackers Henoc Muamba and Darius Eubanks.

Wait. "Improved"?

Wait. Who?!

The Cowboys are preparing to cut their losses on McClain, I think, and can't count on Gregory for 2016, I think, all due to drug use. They aren't at camp here in Oxnard. Muamba and Eubanks engaged in on-field workouts following the morning walkthrough on Saturday and proceeding the afternoon practice session.

So they are Cowboys. And, in a way, McClain and Gregory are not.

Eubanks has been on NFL rosters a few times in his career and the 6-2, 227-pounder was a member of the Cowboys practice squad for two months last season.

Muamba was the first-overall pick in the 2011 CFL Draft and the 6-0, 230-pounder had a brief time with Indianapolis.

These guys aren't significant in the same way dozens and dozens of other Cowboys are. But if you're not here, you're not a Cowboy … and you're even less significant than two bottom-of-the-roster workout linebackers.
