Coldest Morning Since May

North Texas woke up to temps in the 40s and low 50s today and that is the coldest morning we have seen since may 6th. Just after 7:30AM temps were still in the upper 40s across most of North Texas with clear skies. The normal low for this time of the year should only cool down to 57°. While temps were cold we didn't reach our record low of 41° but it was a significant cool down.

High pressure is in charge today and that will allow plenty of sunshine to warm up temps into the lower 70s this afternoon. The northerly wind will switch around to SE later this afternoon and make for a pleasant drive home.

There is another cold front on the way to NTX Friday afternoon into Friday night but don't expect a significant rain event from the frontal passage. Temps will warm again into the lower 70s before cooling down slightly Saturday into the upper 60s. Cool morning prevail across the 7day forecast and it looks like we will stay in fall for the week ahead.

So, bundle up in the mornings but get outside and enjoy this great fall air.
