RIO VISTA (CBSDFW.COM) – The Rio Vista Elementary School took a hit in the storm.

Crews showed up with chainsaws and trucks to try to remove whatever debris they could.

Students did not attend school today, so the cleanup process could begin.

The school was not touched, but nearby trees and playground equipment were damaged.

CBS 11 talked with one teacher who took it upon herself to help out after the storm.

"We're gathering up equipment that's scattered. I have a friend that has a lot of damage, so I'm gonna help clean up their yard," said Rio Vista Elementary teacher Barbara Burnett.

CBS 11 tried to contact school officials to find out what they are planning to do tomorrow.

At this point, it appears the schools will open Tuesday.
