Christmas Store Seeing Green This Holiday Season
ARLINGTON (CBSDFW.COM) - The owners of Decorator's Warehouse in West Arlington feared the worst for Black Friday, traditionally the busiest shopping day of the year. The store bills itself as Texas' #1 Christmas Store.
"We were a little worried coming into the season it might be slow, said David Hanson, the store owner. But Hanson was pleasantly surprised.
"It's just been crazy," Hanson said.. "If you look around, wall to wall people. Its going to be, by far our best season ever.
The store is lined with bright lights, glittering ornaments and sparkling Christmas decor. On Black Friday, the store's aisles were crowded with people trying to maneuver through the displays. Customers came from all over Texas and even Oklahoma to spend on decorations.
"I'm from Corsicana," said Mary Ann Jones . "My daughter lives here and told me there's a huge Christmas store over here to see so we came over here to see what we could find."
And people are coming to spend.
They're dipping into wallets and loading up bags with big-ticket items.
The store owners think consumers are ready to release their bottled up frustrations.
"I think people are tired of being nervous about the economy," Hanson said. "And Christmas is such a feel good season. They're ready to buy. People are having a ball and they're buying."
