Child's Small Gift To Animal Shelter Having Big Impact

DALLAS(CBSDFW.COM) - A small gesture from a mystery girl has the staff at Dallas Animal Services feeling very grateful.

Last week the staff received a green envelope. Inside it was $2.26 along with a note that read:

"From Maggie. I hope that the pets are okay. Give them happy lives and toys and food. Love Maggie"

Maggie's intention set of a social media campaign where other donor were encouraged to "Match Maggie's Gift."

DAS Operations Manager Dr. Cate McManus says, "It just reminds us of why we do what and reinforces the goodness in the world and how much people love pets."

So far the donations have reached about $1,000 all thanks to Maggie's note.

Now the staff is looking for Maggie. They say they want to meet her to say, "thank you."

Dr. McManus added, "We would love to give her a tour and meet her in person."
