Briefly Cool, Then Back To Warm Times

Gorgeous weather pattern sets up for today and tomorrow with very dry air in place of Texas.  This will mean a big temperature swing from morning lows in the 40s to near 80 degrees today and tomorrow.  Winds will swing back around to the south Friday night and continue through the weekend.  This will increase the humidity fairly quickly Saturday and set up a warm, humid pattern through at least the middle of next week…and likely into the following weekend.

The core of the dry air mass is marked by that high pressure symbol on the forecast map above.  It will be directly overhead during the overnight hours tonight and will keep winds light and the air dry.  This makes for our most significant feature of our 7 day forecast:  the very chilly Friday morning.  Temperatures will run at levels typical of November.  Here are the forecast lows.

After the chilly morning, Friday afternoon's forecast is simply beautiful with a light breeze and highs near 80 degrees while we spend the day under the high pressure system.

As the core of the high drifts to our east, the winds shift to the south overnight Friday.  This will open the door for breezy south winds at 10-20 mph Saturday and a return for humidity by the end of the day.  With the south winds by the morning Saturday, we will likely see a brief layer of clouds that will mix out by the late morning hours and make way for sun for the remainder of the day.

Sunday morning will likely start out the same way with morning clouds then mostly sunny afternoon.  However, Sunday will be windier.  South winds will pick up 15-25 mph with stronger gusts possible.  The temperatures will also be a bit warmer, too.  Sunday's 88 degree high will be six degrees shy of the record high.
