Boat Ramp At Little Elm Park Reopens

LITTLE ELM (CBSDFW.COM) - After being closed since May 24 due to dangerous conditions related to the heavy rains and flooding, the Little Elm Park Boat Ramp reopened Sunday.

Town leaders say they've have inspected the ramp and deemed it safe for public use.

The ramp, along with the beach and a significant portion of Little Elm Park's waterfront have been inundated by the encroaching Lewisville Lake, which has since begun to slowly recede.

While the Little Elm Boat Park Ramp opened to boat launches, town leaders urge caution as the water along the ramp is not completely receded to level at which the ramp was designed. Picnic tables, park grills, trees and other items may still be underwater and unmarked around the lake.

The Town of Little Elm offers a yearly pass to residents for $25 and to non-residents for $75.

Day use of the ramp carries a rate of $10, which can be purchased at the kiosk at the boat ramp.
