FORT WORTH (CBSDFW.COM) - Fort Worth officer Brandon Morris is on restricted duty as the department investigates a post made on his Facebook page, calling on black people to buy "many guns and rounds of ammunition," "learn this [expletive] political system and be ready as "you may have to answer the call for revolution sooner than you think."

"The Facebook page where the post appeared was linked to a Fort Worth police officer, and the officer has been placed on Restricted Duty Status. In this, and any internal investigation, we will not make any other comments until the investigation is complete," confirmed Chief Joel Fitzgerald via email to CBS11.

The post also said the officer was "watching a few co-workers whom were definitely suspect."

Sgt. Marc Povero, a police spokesman, said Friday that the department has initiated an internal affairs investigation into whether the post violates the department's social media policy, according to The Star Telegram. Also, Morris has no formal disciplinary action on file with the Civil Service Commission, according to the publication.

The Fort Worth Police Officers' Association sent CBS11 the following statement: "It is the policy of the Fort Worth Police Officers' Association not to comment on a member's pending Internal Affairs Investigation. However, the Association will take all steps necessary to ensure that Officer Morris is afforded his right to Due Process and his right to a fair and impartial investigation of the charges against him by the Fort Worth Police Department."  - Sgt. Rick Van Houten, President Fort Worth Police Officers' Association

The Facebook page profile name was an alias -- Negus Ankhmaster Morris.

It has since been deleted.
