Black Eyed Peas Will Headline SBXLV Halftime
ARLINGTON (AP/CBSDFW.COM) - It might have been the worst-kept secret in town over the past few weeks, but it's now official, The Black Eyed Peas will be the featured halftime performer at Super Bowl XLV at Cowboys Stadium in Arlington.
The Grammy award-winning group will perform February 6 at midfield of Cowboys Stadium. The official announcement was made Thursday during the Cowboys' annual Thanksgiving Day game.
Since forming in 1995, The Black Eyed Peas have sold more than 28 million albums worldwide and nearly 31 million digital tracks. Their new album, "The Beginning," is set for release Tuesday.
Last year's featured performer was The Who. Other recent halftime acts have included U2, the Rolling Stones, Bruce Springsteen & The E Street Band, Paul McCartney, Prince, and the controversial 2004 performace by Justin Timberlake and Janet Jackson.
