Crú - A Wine Bar

3699 McKinney Avenue
Dallas, TX 75204

Located in West Village Cru Wine Bar is an intimate location whose atmosphere kind of makes you think cigar bar. In case you're just dropping by for a bite to eat, the two-story wall of wine reminds you of potential selections. Once selections are made each wine gets its own decanter and is always served at the right temperature. The wine flights are grouped well and there's no one looking down their nose if you don't know the region it came from, the origin of the wood flavor, or the acidity level!

Bolsa

614 West Davis Street
Dallas, TX 75208

The wine bar is just outside the Bishop Arts District and has a downtown, warehouse type of feel. Many people rave about the food, especially the scallops and the bruschetta platter, but this is all about the wine. While the wine selection is small it's impressive and includes unusual finds and a good selection of South American wines. There's more of a casual atmosphere, your sommelier may wear jeans and boots, and every Tuesday bottles of wine are half price. For the budget conscious, and everyone else, the wine list is broken down by price.

Mercy is the type of place local wine connoisseurs might take their screw off top friends – good wine can be enjoyed by everyone. The wine list, or book, is impressive with selections from around the world. While Mercy offers dozens of wines 'by the glass' spring for the bottle… everyone will be able to tell the difference. Cheese pairings are exceptional.

Times Ten Cellars

6324 Prospect Avenue
Dallas, TX 75214

With locations in both Dallas and Fort Worth, Times Ten Cellars has their own winemaking facility. But they aren't so ethnocentric as to only have their wine on the lists. Look for a fair selection from Texas vineyards and a vast selection from California. Both locations are "intimate", but with large couches and scattered seating areas. Another cool thing about Times Ten – feel like ordering from the menu, fantastic, if not pick up something from a local restaurant and bring it with you.

Sonoma Grill & Wine Bar

380 Parker Square
Flower Mound, TX 75028
www.sonomagrill-winebar.com

Yes the name is 'Sonoma' so there is an expansive number of wine list options from the Sonoma Valley in California, but lovers of domestic and international wine should also find something pleasing to the palette. And good news for the budget conscious, Sonoma recently tweaked the wine list and now offers bottles ranging from $22 to the mid-triple digits. If you're going to grab a bite to eat try the Crab Stuffed Chilean Sea Bass or any salad with the Raspberry-Basil Vinaigrette dressing… you won't be disappointed!!
