Be Careful Where You Shoot Those Fireworks

Heads-up if you're planning to shoot fireworks this weekend, Dallas Fire-Rescue will be looking for violators.
You can't light firecrackers anywere in Dallas or within 5-thousand feet of Dallas city limits.  Yet they do.  And so Fire Inspectors will be closing parks around 9:00 to make sure nobody busts out the black cats and bottle-rockets.
Dallas Fire-Rescue Lieutenant Shannon Hopps says if you're caught you can get a ticket up to 2,000 dollars and she says they've found enough violators in past years to keep up the enforcement.

To see some legal fireworks Forbes magazine is out with its annual list of the biggest and best fireworks displays in the country and one of them is right here in North Texas.  As always the biggest ones are back east in Boston, New York City and on the National Mall in Washington.  But this year, St. Louis also made the list along with Kaboomtown in Addison.  This year marks the 25th anniversary of that display and Forbes says it should be "brighter than ever and one of the best in the country"
