Azle Man Allegedly Held Girlfriend Captive
AZLE (CBSDFW.COM) - A man from Azle was arrested for allegedly assaulting his girlfriend and holding her captive for three days, according to the Parker County Sheriff's Office. Authorities said that 44-year-old Michael Dwayne Cosby was having an argument with the 28-year-old victim on Friday at their trailer home in the 1200 block of Oakridge Road.
The victim told police that Cosby choked her until "almost blacking out" and caused injuries to her face, neck, back, arms, shins and knees. She was then allegedly locked inside of a bedroom at the trailer home for three days, fearing for her life. The victim begged to be taken to a medical center for scheduled treatments, but her requests were denied, she said.
When the victim attempted to escape, she told police that Cosby caught her and dragged her back into the bedroom by her hair.
Cosby did eventually take the victim to the medical center for her treatment. But, she said that Cosby made her cover up injuries with makeup. After dropping her off, he allegedly called the center and told a staff member that "nothing would stand in his way" of him picking her up after treatment was complete. That staff member called 911 to report the situation.
Investigators arrested Cosby without incident and charged him with assault. He now remains in the Parker County Jail. No bond has been set. Also, the medical center has requested that a criminal trespass warning be issued against Cosby.
