AYP Numbers Mixed

Fewer school districts, 78 percent, met federal adequate yearly progress standards this year.  The good news is that more schools, 85 percent, met the standards according to preliminary numbers released by the Texas Education Agency.  Agency Spokeswoman Debbie Ratcliffe says these aren't the final numbers, school district's can still appeal the findings.  "They can't appeal if they just don't like their rating, they have to have some kind of factual grounds for an appeal."  The final figures will be released in December.
