3 Dead In Fiery Crash In Arlington Caused By Suspected Drunk Driver

ARLINGTON, Texas (CBSDFW.COM) - Three people are dead after a fiery crash in Arlington late Thursday evening that was caused by a suspected drunk driver, police say.

The crash happened at around 11 p.m. in the eastbound lanes of I-20 near Matlock Road.

Police say a car became disabled on the right shoulder of the road and called for help. Another car pulled up behind the disabled vehicle to help and two people went outside.

According to police, a man identified as 29-year-old Jose Castro was allegedly driving drunk and crashed into the car that showed up to help. The crash sent the two people on the outside over a guardrail, killing them both.

Police say the crash also caused the disabled car to catch fire, which killed a person inside.

Castro was taken into custody and charged with three counts of intoxication manslaughter.
