DALLAS (CBSDFW.COM) - Police in Dallas are investigating yet another attempted ATM heist. This latest incident happened at around 3:45 a.m. near the intersection of Interstate-20 and South Hampton Road.

Authorities were called to the Raceway gas station for reports of a smash-and-grab robbery. The criminals left behind a lot of damage, but were not able to get away with the cash machine.

Nobody was injured in this incident.

Investigators reviewed surveillance camera video and determined that four suspects were involved in this case, two in a gold 2000-2006 Chevrolet or GMC pickup truck and two others on foot. All four of the suspects were wearing masks or hoods.

The suspects backed the truck into the front of the gas station and knocked over the ATM in the process. After crashing into the store, the suspects on foot tried to lift the machine into the truck bed, but were unsuccessful. Afterward, one of those two individuals jumped into the truck as it drove away from the scene. The other suspect ran off.

There has been no word about who the criminals could be, or if this latest theft attempt is related to any others.

There has been a string of similar smash-and-grab ATM heists in the Dallas area since the beginning of the year. Nearly all of them involve suspects crashing a vehicle into a business and quickly taking off with the store's money machine.

"It's frustrating," said Raceway owner Nazmul Karim. Something very similar happened at his store just about a month ago, when there was another unsuccessful ATM theft attempt. That one caused less damage. "Hopefully this is going to stop."
