An Allen man who admitted he tried to his wife killed two years ago is staying in prison
Steven Gordon's plan to have his wife murdered came apart and backfired in a big way two years ago.
According to court records, Gordon met his wife on business trip to Malaysia. Several years later, when she said she wanted to divorce Gordon and take the kids back to Malaysia with her, he posted an ad in Craigslist.
The first idea was looking for a way to get her green card revoked. The man who responded to the ad talked Gordon into another idea, murder for hire.
Money was paid to the suspected hit-man and Gordon thought he would have her murdered. But both times - the plan fell apart.
Gordon than began arguing with the man he had hired, and suddenly Gordon felt threatened.
He went to police, they had him arrested, and a jury found him guilty and sentenced him to 60-years in prison.
Now an appeals court has upheld the conviction and sentence.
