Aggies top FIU in NCAA play

Cyrus Gray ran for 85 yards and the deciding score as the Texas A&M Aggies slipped by the FIU Golden Panthers, 27-20, in non-conference action at Kyle Field.

Gray carried the ball nine times for the Aggies (3-0) as the team generated 206 yards and scored twice on the ground to remain undefeated on the season. Christine Michael finished with a game-high 119 yards and a score on 21 attempts, while quarterback Jerrod Johnson converted 11-of-31 passes for 194 yards and a TD. However, Johnson was under constant pressure as he threw four interceptions and was taken down for six sacks on the night.

The Aggies took control in the fourth as Michael scored on a 37-yard run, Johnson and Terrence McCoy hooked up for a 33-yard TD strike and Gray hit the end zone on a 40-yard run with only 4:29 remaining in regulation to give the hosts the comeback win.
