Afternoon Storms Likely Missing Metroplex

Energy is moving through the eastern half of North Texas today.  While showers and storms have held together from the overnight hours for eastern sections, we expect a lull in the activity before reenergizing with this afternoon's heat.  With most of the activity missing the Metroplex, we are calling for a 20 percent coverage for the southern part of North Texas.  A few storms may produce strong winds, but severe weather is not expected.  Mostly sunny and hot today.

Tomorrow the energy will have moved well off to our east and we will open the door for intense heat to build through the rest of the weekend and into the middle of next week.  Highs will top out at 103 degrees and hotter starting tomorrow through next Tuesday.
