This chain store specializes in equipping customers for the outdoors and offers a full range of climbing gear. They even have equipment specially sized for kids, so the entire family can enjoy an excursion in the mountains. Along with equipment, the REI store in Dallas has a small indoor climbing wall if you're unsure about a climbing hobby. They offer beginning climbing classes with certified instructors and host climbing competitions for the more competitive climbers.

If you want all the experience of climbing, but don't want to purchase your equipment, Dallas Rocks has facilities and equipment for you. Dallas Rocks is set up like a traditional gym, but with workout equipment geared toward climbers, not to mention the impressive climbing surfaces (over 14,000 square feet, according to their website). Monthly membership fees give climbers unlimited access to surfaces and equipment, as well as pricing discounts on gear. They offer day passes, kids passes and activities for groups and parties, in addition to yoga classes, outdoor guiding trips and lock-ins. Dallas Rocks is also host to the Southern Rock Climbing Team, which regularly participates in climbing tournaments.

Exposure Rock Climbing offers indoor climbing that has new climbing routes every week. Climbers don't have to commit to a full 30 days of climbing and can opt to pay by the day or get a punch card that offers ten trips to the facilities and doesn't expire until all the spots have been used. Exposure Rock Climbing has free climbing classes every Wednesday and books parties and group events. They even have special discounted events for students, since rock climbing can get pricey. For those who want to climb outdoors, but don't have the space, Exposure rents out its portable climbing wall for events or team building activities.
