A Chilly But Not Record Breaking May Morning
Happy Thursday NTX. Did you grab your jacket this morning? We had another unseasonably cool morning across NTX and the metroplex this AM. NTX did see temperatures dip into the 40s and low 50s for our low temperatures. The record low at DFW is 44 degress and was set back in 1907. Parts of the metroplex did get chilly but not record breaking.
Plenty of sunshine is in the forecast today across North Texas so while we did have a chilly start we will have a great day to get outside and enjoy. Around 9AM we are already in the low 60s but your daypart forecast shows that temps warm to near 80° later this afternoon.
While we have seen cooler than average temperatures the west coast is seeing above average temps with highs near Southern California in the low 90s. A big ridge of high pressure sits across the West Coast but will shift east during the next few days. That means that our cool mornings will moderate and temps will warm back to near average.
