RAGWEED REACHES HIGHEST POINT OF THE YEAR SO FAR...
The Ragweed count reached its highest level of the year so far. The count today was 302 putting it in the high category. The highest Ragweed count last year came on Oct. 7, when it reached a high of 496! Here's a look at the pollen count for today.
WHEN DOES RAGWEED SEASON END...
The last two weeks of September and the first two weeks of October are usually the peak of Ragweed Season. Ragweed usually remains in the air until the first freeze. So when is the average first freeze. Well it is not until November. November 22 is the average date of the first freeze at DFW. The earliest freeze on record happened on Oct. 22, 1898. 1898 is also the first year official records were kept for this area. Back then the official temperature was taken in downtown Fort Worth.
WARM WEEK AHEAD...
