HURST (CBSDFW.COM) - Angel Sales' former student remembers him as nice, but strange.

With her mother's permission, a 9-year- old girl spoke to CBS11 about her third grade teacher, who's now charged with two counts of indecency with a child for allegedly fondling students.

"He had glasses," she first said, when asked what he was like.

She described him as affectionate.

"He hugged me sometimes," she said.

That physical contact, though, she said, was primarily reserved for the girls in the class.

"He touched almost all my friends," she said. "Sometimes I saw weird things that I didn't understand, and I thought it was something bad about him."

When girls took restroom breaks, she said Sales would sometimes touch "their behind parts."

"They thought it was kind of nasty," she said.

Court records show Sales denied accusations he fondled students.

According to an affidavit, he told police "some kids do hug him, but he does not initiate the hugs."

When asked why so many students would lie about his actions, he told an officer the class was mad at him for not letting them watch a movie.

This student, though, didn't appear upset, explaining his odd behavior as best she could.

"As a man, they are sometimes attracted by girls," she told CBS11.

The investigation into Sales began in May, as the school year was ending, and resulting in an arrest this last week.

Sales is out of jail on bond.

The Hurst-Euless-Bedford ISD superintendent has promised parents he won't be returning to campus.
