Another Day Below Normal
It was another August morning in the 60's and another day with below-normal highs. A little bit of September weather entered our August but temperatures will return to their climatological norms by mid-week.
The weather story continues to be the plume of moisture from the Gulf of Mexico that is feeding heavy rains into Florida and the south. This weather pattern will hold for a couple more days bringing more flooding to the panhandle of Florida and Georgia. The rains are reaching all the way to the mid-Atlantic states:
For us its plenty of sunshine and temperatures in the mid-90's to start our work week. All this sunshine teamed with light winds is turning our tailpipe emissions into high amounts of surface ozone. Another Ozone Action Day is posted for Monday:
All this moisture across the Gulf will get tapped into when our winds turn to the south at the end of the week. We'll include rain chances in the forecast but not until next weekend:
Meanwhile, highs will reach toward the triple-digit range by Friday before the clouds and rain chances knock the highs down some.
