FORT WORTH (CBSDFW.COM) - Three people were hurt early Monday after flames swept through a large house on Fort Worth's east side. The incident happened shortly after 12:30 a.m. at a home located in the 3300 block of Panola Avenue, just south of Lancaster Avenue.

Heavy flames and smoke were showing when firefighters first arrived at the scene.

A man was found on the grass in front of the home with second-degree burns to his hands and smoke inhalation. That individual was transported to Parkland Hospital in Dallas for treatment.

Another man had jumped from a second-story balcony at the back of the house. He suffered a broken ankle and smoke inhalation. Firefighters also had to rescue a woman from that balcony. She too had suffered smoke inhalation. The two victims in the backyard were taken to Harris Methodist Hospital in Fort Worth.

Crews were able to get the flames under control within 20 minutes. The cause of the fire is now under investigation.
