Severe Storms Possible Wednesday
MILD FOR ONE MORE DAY AND STORM CHANCES INCREASING FOR WEDNESDAY…
Temperatures today have warmed into the low to mid 60s despite the cloud cover and spotty drizzle. Winds have been out of the SE all day pulling more moisture northward from the south. The SE winds will increase tonight and tomorrow morning ahead of our next cold front.
MILD WITH STORMS POSSIBLE ON WEDNESDAY…
That cold front will arrive Wednesday evening, but before it gets here, tomorrow will be cloudy and mild with highs in the upper 60s and low 70s. Winds will be a bit breezy out of the SE with gusts up to 30 mph. There will likely be a little patchy fog/drizzle/light rain Wednesday morning. But the best chance of showers and thunderstorms will come during the afternoon and evening. Part of North Texas is under the slight risk for severe weather. Here is the map.
The setup for severe weather does not look terribly impressive, but a few isolated storms could become severe with large hail and damaging winds being the main concern.
UPPER LEVEL LOW OUT WEST…
This upper level low out west on the map below will be the main reason for our rain chances tomorrow. The bulk of the energy from this system will move toward Kansas, but we will be close enough where I expect showers and storms here in North Texas.
THURSDAY…
Clouds will hang around on Thursday with more showers possible. Temperatures will be cooler with morning lows around 50 degrees and highs only in the upper 50s. Winds will be out of the north keeping it cool.
FRIDAY…
Some left over rain will be possible in the morning on Friday, but we should finally see some sunshine on Friday. Temperatures will be cool though with lows in the upper 30s and highs in the low 50s.
SATURDAY…
Some sunshine with temperatures in the 30s Saturday morning and then upper 50s for highs.
MORE RAIN SUNDAY AND MONDAY…
Yet another upper level low will be heading our way Sunday and Monday. This will mean more cloud cover and more rain chances. It looks like widespread rain will be likely on these two days.
