100 Degrees In June? Not A Sure Thing
While it's been hot and humid over the past several days, the mercury has failed to climb to 100 degrees yet at DFW. No triple digit heat is in sight at this point. We'll stick with temperatures mainly in the lower to mid 90s for highs over the next 7 to 10 days.
In 115 years worth of data, if we are going to see triple digit heat, it's in the last two weeks of June....75% of the 100 degree days in June have occurred then.
So far this June has had zero 100 degree days, but that's not really all that unusual. In fact, over half of DFW Junes have no triple digit temperatures. The most 100 degree days in June in DFW occurred in that infamous year of heat, 1980.
Now it's a much rarer thing for us to escape a whole summer without 100°. That has happened only twice before.
See you at 4p on CBS11!
