Supreme Court rejects GOP bids to block 2 states' congressional maps

In the North Carolina case, three conservative justices said they would have blocked the use of the court-approved map.
Prosecutors from Montgomery County, Pennsylvania, asked the justices to wade into the case involving Cosby in November.
The incident took place as Vice President Kamala Harris and four members of President Biden's Cabinet arrived back at the Maryland base from Selma, Alabama.
"If I think of past decades, I cannot think in Europe of a faster exodus of people not since the end of the second world war," Grandi said.
"There is strong support to show solidarity with Ukraine, but also to make sure that American dollars aren't supporting the Russian war machine in any way," Schiff said.
The secretary of state says the U.S. is considering providing fighter jets to Poland if the country sends its own to Ukraine.
The court ruled unanimously.
The court ruled 6-3 along ideological lines.
"We believe that their confirmation (or denial) of the information Zubaydah seeks would be tantamount to a disclosure from the CIA itself," Justice Stephen Breyer wrote for the majority.
Jackson's confirmation hearings before the Senate Judiciary Committee begin March 21.
"Given the rapidly evolving situation in Ukraine, I anticipate that additional needs may arise over time," Shalanda Young, acting White House budget director, wrote in a letter Wednesday.
The president emphasized what unites the country while trying to reassure Americans worried about the Ukraine crisis, inflation and gas prices that "we are going to be OK."
"Veterans are the backbone and the spine of this country. They're the best of us," Mr. Biden said.
A spokeswoman for the U.S. Mission to the United Nations said the action "has been in development for several months."
Jackson's meetings with Schumer, McConnell, Durbin and Grassley will all be in person, the White House said.
