Before her career in journalism, O'Grady worked at McKinsey & Company in Boston, where she advised CEOs and top industry managers on their most pressing business challenges. She also developed deep expertise in finance as a member of Disney's Corporate Strategy team, helping execute multibillion-dollar M&A transactions and building the company's direct-to-consumer streaming efforts.
O'Grady earned her MBA from Harvard Business School and graduated from Harvard College with a Bachelor of Arts in Social Studies and East Asian Studies. She received high honors for her thesis on Chinese politics and served as the president of both Harvard Women in Business and Harvard Television.
O'Grady was Miss Massachusetts USA in 2019 and is a trained Latin ballroom dancer and figure skater. She calls New York home, with her husband and French bulldog named Biggie.
