Golden Mike Award-winning Meteorologist Evelyn Taft appears on CBS LA's afternoon and evening newscasts and streaming service. Evelyn started at CBS LA in 2010. She's forecasted and contributed in-depth climate and extreme weather coverage in Southern California.
Evelyn graduated from USC's Annenberg School of Journalism with degrees in Broadcast Journalism and Political Science. In addition, she completed a meteorology certificate program at Mississippi State University and holds the National Weather Association Seal of Approval.
Before joining CBS LA, Evelyn forecasted in her hometown of San Francisco at KRON4 and worked on California's Central Coast at both KION and KCOY, the CBS affiliates serving the region. In addition to forecasting, she anchored and reported on major breaking news stories and reported from the front lines of several major wildfires.
Deeply connected to the community, Evelyn supports local schools and youth education initiatives. She's passionate about inspiring the next generation to explore science and meteorology.
Raised by Moscow-born parents, she speaks Russian as her first language. She has a lifelong love of travel and culture. Outside of work, she enjoys tennis, beach days and time with her family.
