Daniel Ruetenik

Daniel Ruetenik is a producer with CBS News' Investigative Unit, reporting for all CBS News platforms.

He has spent more than 20 years producing and reporting from around the globe. At CBS News he's worked with "60 Minutes," "Sunday Morning," "Evening News," "Saturday Morning," "CBS Mornings" and CBSNews.com. His reporting has taken him to dozens of countries, including assignments in war zones and in the aftermath of natural disasters, as well as for in-depth investigative work.

Ruetenik's investigative reporting has uncovered scandals including the GM ignition switch crisis, exploding Takata airbags, accounting mistakes at DOGE, and questions surrounding the death of Jeffrey Epstein. He won an Emmy Award and a Gerald Loeb Award for his "60 Minutes" reporting on the housing crisis in the aftermath of the 2008 financial crash.

Prior to joining the Investigative Unit, Ruetenik was an anchor producer at "CBS Saturday Morning," working alongside Jeff Glor on a wide range of topics from investigations to author profiles, restaurant coverage, national parks and tech.

Beyond CBS, he has also produced and reported for the Netflix series "Rotten," National Geographic Explorer, CNN's Anderson Cooper 360, The New York Times and other outlets.
