A Texas district attorney is investigating the death of a puppy on a United flight as a possible criminal offense. Kokito, a French bulldog, died after his owner says a United flight attendant forced her to put him in the overhead bin. United is also apologizing for mistakenly flying a German shepherd to Japan. The dog was supposed to land in Kansas City with its owners. Kris Van Cleave reports.

A grieving family is speaking out about the death of their dog aboard a United Airlines flight. They say a flight attendant forced them to put the 10-month-old French bulldog in an overhead bin, and was kept there for the entire three-and-a-half-hour flight. Kris Van Cleave reports.

A dog in a carrier bag died on a United Airlines flight after a flight attendant told the owner to put the bag in an overhead bin. Now, the airline is apologizing for the ordeal. CBS News transportation correspondent Kris Van Cleave reports.
United plane blows tire on takeoff
A United Airlines flight from Newark, New Jersey, landed safely in Portland, Oregon, without one of its tires. Officials said Flight 1551 blew one of its tires during takeoff. Anne-Marie Green reports.
Plane slides off runway in Green Bay
A United Airlines flight bound for Minneapolis made two unscheduled landings and eventually ran off a runway. The flight from Houston was diverted twice because of bad weather, first to Madison, Wisconsin, and then to Green Bay, where it skidded off the runway. United flight makes emergency landing
In a statement, the airline said the Honolulu to San Francisco flight "called for an emergency landing due to a mechanical issue" and landed safely back in Honolulu.
Peacock prompts United to change policy
United is the latest airline to crack down on so-called emotional support animals. The policy change was prompted in part by a passenger who tried to board a United flight with a large peacock Sunday. Peter Greenberg reports.
"Emotional support" peacock denied flight
This peacock named Dexter tried to get on a plane as an "emotional support animal," but United Airlines told his owner that would not fly.

A woman showed up at New Jersey's Newark Liberty International Airport with a peacock. She told United Airlines it was a support peacock and she needed to bring it on the plane. That did not fly with United. Jeff Glor reports.
Passenger smears feces
A United Airlines flight from Chicago to Hong Kong was diverted to Anchorage, Alaska, after a passenger smeared feces in the bathrooms. CBSN's Vladimir Duthiers and Anne Marie Green have the latest on the incident.
