Politicians respond to Paul Pelosi attack

The man who allegedly attacked House Speaker Nancy Pelosi's husband Paul Pelosi is set to be arraigned Tuesday. Both federal and state-level charges were announced against him, which include attempted murder and kidnapping. CBS News homeland security and justice reporter Nicole Sganga and congressional correspondent for The New York Times Annie Karni join "CBS News Mornings" for a panel discussion on the extent of the charges and how political figures on both sides of the aisle are responding to the attack.

DA announces charges in Paul Pelosi attack

The San Francisco District Attorney on Monday formally announced charges against David DePape, the man accused of attacking House Speaker Nancy Pelosi's husband, Paul. The Justice Department also announced federal charges against the suspect. San Francisco District Attorney Brooke Jenkins said "what is clear, based on the evidence that we have thus far, is this house and the Speaker herself were specifically targets of the defendant." Charges to be announced in Paul Pelosi attack

The suspect in an attack that left House Speaker Nancy Pelosi's husband Paul hospitalized with a skull fracture is set to have charges against him announced today. It comes as CBS News has confirmed that the suspect had a list of other targets he may have been planning to attack, as well. Wall Street Journal congressional reporter Siobhan Hughes joins "CBS News Mornings" with updates on the case and the danger of misinformation about it circulating online.
