Expert says Biden team losing "precious time"

President-elect Joe Biden is calling on the federal government's General Services Administration to authorize his presidential transition despite pushback from President Trump. Without this authorization, Mr. Biden doesn't have access to information or resources that he needs before he takes office in January. Kathryn Dunn Tenpas, a senior research director for the White House Transition Project and a senior fellow at the University of Virginia's Miller Center, joined CBSN's Lana Zak to discuss.

House Intelligence Committee Chairman Adam Schiff is criticizing President Trump's decision to fire the director of the Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Security Agency, Christopher Krebs, saying the president did so because Krebs would not back baseless claims of voter fraud. Rep. Schiff joins CBSN's "Red & Blue" host Elaine Quijano to discuss Krebs' firing, as well as the future of the Democratic Party, House Speaker Nancy Pelosi, and if he's being considered for a potential role in the Biden administration.

Dem says stop "playing games" with transition

More than a week after President-elect Joe Biden was projected to win the 2020 election, Democratic lawmakers are still pushing the federal government to provide resources, office space and funding to his transition team. Congressman Gerry Connolly, a Virginia Democrat who chairs the House Subcommittee on Government Operations, told CBSN the head of the government's General Services Administration hasn't responded to lawmakers' questions about why she hasn't signed off on this key part of the transition process. Connolly also said Congress is limited in what it can do to compel the Trump administration to proceed.
