Syrian teen allegedly attacked on trolley
Police are investigating an alleged attack on a Syrian teen while he rode a San Diego trolley as a hate crime. The 17-year-old was FaceTiming on Tuesday when a man apparently approached him and asked if he was Mexican. KFMB-TV's Abbie Alford reports.
Hate crime murders reached record high
Hate crime murders in the U.S. reached a 27-year high in 2018, according to data released Tuesday by the FBI. Twenty-four people were killed in incidents classified as hate crimes, which includes the 11 worshipers slain last year at the Tree of Life Synagogue in Pittsburgh, the deadliest anti-Semitic crime in U.S. history.
Murder charges 32 years after gay man's deadly fall off cliff
Scott Johnson's death was initially ruled a suicide, but an inquest found it was likely he had been either pushed over the cliff or fell while trying to escape assailants.
