The attacker targeted people on the platform in the city of Hamburg, according to police.
Hamburg police said that a 35-year-old man had a 4-year-old child inside the car.

The gunman, identified only as Phillip F., legally owned the pistol used in the attack, and police say he was also found dead at the scene.
