Virtual Reality Headset Puts Warriors Fans In Courtside Seats At Season Opener

OAKLAND (CBS SF) -- Some of the best courtside seats in the house on Warriors Opening night were not in the house, they were in virtual reality.

High tech fans made history Tuesday night and strapped on the Samsung Gear VR, a virtual reality device, and were transported there -- for a fraction of the price.

It was the first time a major sport league offered a live-streamed virtual reality experience and fans loved it.

"Forget going courtside, with this you can watch the game couchside," said one fan, as she strapped on the ultra-modern headseat. "Now i'm ready to watch the game."

"Like why would I need to buy tickets if I have this 'cause literally like I'm there," said another fan.

The Samsung Gear VR headsets bring the action right in front of your eyes. This could be the way of the future.

The proposed Warriors stadium in San Francisco will come with high-tech upgrades that will virtually bring the basketball court into your living room.

Imagine, a courtside seat can run you upwards of $500. The Samsung Gear VR starts at just $99.
