Small Earthquake Shakes Sonoma County
THE GEYSERS (BCN) - The U.S. Geological Survey reports an earthquake with a preliminary magnitude of 2.9 struck Friday morning in Sonoma County.
According to the USGS, the temblor rattled an area around The Geysers at 5:31 a.m.
The quake, which was centered one mile east of The Geysers with a depth less than one mile, is potentially the strongest tremor to shake the seismically active area since Monday, according to the USGS.
A magnitude 3.0 quake occurred approximately two miles north of The Geysers Monday at 12:34 p.m., according to the USGS.
