Santa Rosa Man, Woman Hurt In Early Morning Gang Attack
SANTA ROSA (CBS SF) -- Two people were assaulted in Santa Rosa early Saturday morning in what police said appears to be a gang-related attack.
A 22-year-old female was walking with a 24-year-old male near Mendocino Avenue and Steele Lane at about 4 a.m. when they were confronted by two suspects, police said.
The suspects assaulted the victims, knocking them to the ground, and shouted gang-related threats as they continued to assault the victims, police said.
The suspects then fled on foot south on Mendocino Avenue.
When police arrived, they found the two victims with facial and head injuries, which were not life-threatening. The victims were transported to a hospital for treatment.
Anyone with information about the assault is asked to contact investigators at (707) 543-4095 or the Gang Crimes Team at (707) 543-3670.
