Prince Afterparty Announced At Great American Music Hall In San Francisco

SAN FRANCISCO (CBS SF) -- Did you miss out on tickets to see Prince in Oakland last weekend and Friday night? You might still have a chance to see him at the most intimate venue he's playing in the Bay Area.

Friday afternoon the rumors started stirring that there would be an official afterparty for Prince's Friday night show at Oracle Arena that would be held at the Great American Music Hall in San Francisco.

The club's website initially had no information posted, but at around 4 p.m. the party became official when it announced that it would in fact be hosting the afterparty.

Not surprisingly for a Prince-related event, there are a number of rules attendees will need to abide by for the show. The Great American will not be selling advance tickets to the party. Instead, the $50 tickets will have to be purchased at the venue's box office with only one ticket available for each person.

The club says there will be "absolutely NO lining up" before 11 p.m. Friday night. The doors are scheduled to open at 12:30 a.m., allowing Prince and his entourage plenty of time to make it over for the party.

The diminutive R&B giant has a long-standing reputation for putting on club shows following his larger arena concerts. With heavy rains projected through the weekend, Prince fans could be getting a good soaking (in more ways than one) as they wait it out for this intimate gig.
