5 (Mostly) North Bay Restaurants Perfect For Easter Brunch 2013

Who doesn't enjoy Sunday brunch? Whether it's potluck at church, pancakes and coffee at your neighborhood diner, or oysters, prime rib and champagne at the fanciest hotel in town, Sunday brunch is a tradition we love to keep. Here are some of the best places for Sunday brunch in the North Bay, from the relatively modest to the highest end of dining. If you plan to go on Easter, be sure to make reservations.
Pelican Inn 3

The Pelican Inn
10 Pacific Way
Muir Beach, CA 94965
(415) 383-6000

If you are an anglophile or enjoy a rustic environment, you will love this old world British-style inn up in the hilly country near Muir Woods. Owner Charles Felix has a passion for the long British tradition of inn keeping (he's even written a book about it) and visiting the Pelican may be the next best thing to crossing the Atlantic and staying in the British countryside. This spot serves a simple and relatively inexpensive buffet every Sunday ($24 for adults, $16 for children 6 to 12), and the ambiance is delightful.

San Rafael, CA 94901

Quaint is the word for the Panama Hotel, an old victorian bed and breakfast on a residential street in San Rafael. This two-story Victorian charmer was built in 1910 and has been taking in guests since 1926. The current owner, chef Dan Miller, has been in residence since 1984. The quietly elegant dining room is a popular dining destination, and Sunday brunch is a specialty.

Top of the Mark Brunch

Top Of The Mark
Intercontinental Mark Hopkins Hotel
1 Nob Hill
San Francisco, CA 94108
(415) 392-3434

We know it's not the North Bay exactly, but how could we leave off one of San Francisco's most elegant locales? One Nob Hill may well be the fanciest address on the West Coast. Unless you're independently wealthy, have a generous rich uncle or have married remarkably well, you probably aren't a regular. Sunday Brunch here costs a hefty $105 for adults and $59 for kids 4-12 (under 4 are free), and will feature Michael Athens on piano and a special visit from the Easter Bunny. If you have never hobnobbed on Nob Hill and want to give it a shot as you toss your budget to the winds, this may be the brunch of a lifetime.
