2nd Day of San Mateo County Garbage Strike
HALF MOON BAY, Calif. - More than a dozen employees walked off the job at the Allied Waste Ox Mountain Landfill near Half Moon Bay and the company's San Carlos facility on Wednesday.
The two-day strike was called over negotiations that have stalled since their contract expired at the end of last year. Hundreds of truck drivers, garbage collectors and other staffers joined the strike in solidarity.
Allied Waste representatives say tens of thousands of residential customers should expect delays with their trash pickups.
