The possible wolf-dog hybrid that was seen near Cosumnes River Preserve trails in recent days has been caught.
The Cosumnes River Preserve says they've been tracking the wolfdog over the past several weeks.
Two dogs reportedly tied to a leash and stuck on an embankment with water rising quickly were rescued in Galt on Friday afternoon.
Another body was recovered from a Sacramento-area river. Though a cause of death has not yet been revealed, this comes as officials continue warning civilians to stay out of the dangerous and fast-moving local waterways ahead of Memorial Day Weekend.
Even with temperatures cooling down, officials anticipate local waterways will be packed for Memorial Day weekend and urge anyone who chooses to go into the water despite the warnings to always wear a life jacket.
The levee that protects the community of Wilton is all repaired after the January storms, but if the Cosumnes rises above flood stage, there is no levee protection.
