Troubled-Youth Counselor Accused Of Inappropriately Touching Teenage Girl

SACRAMENTO (CBS13) — A woman who worked as a counselor at a home for troubled youth is accused of having a sexual relationship with one of them.

Sacramento Police arrested 24-year-old counselor Theresa Gooch after a lengthy investigation.

Police started investigating Gooch in June after a 16-year-old girl was inappropriately touched while living at a children's receiving home. Police say Gooch also started a sexual relationship with the teen, which started in September of last year and continued for six months.

Investigators arrested her on multiple sex offenses and we're told she no longer works at the children's receiving home.

The home's website says, "The mission of the receiving home is to provide hope and healing for children and their families who suffer from the effects of abuse and neglect."
