Suspect Arrested For Running Down Teen With Car

LODI, Calif. (CBS13) -- An 18-year-old Sacramento resident has been arrested for allegedly running over and dragging a teen with his car in a gang-related incident, police said.

The Lodi Police Department said 18-year-old Royer Delgado intentionally struck a 16-year-old male, who police called a known gang member, near the intersection of Tokay Street and Garfield Street at about 6:00 p.m. Friday night.

Witnesses told police Delgado accelerated after hitting bike-riding victim, dragging the teen more than 450 feet.

Delgado and a juvenile passenger fled the scene in the car, and the victim was rushed to a Sacramento hospital, according to authorities.

A tip led investigators to Kayllie Kay Lane in Sacramento, where they found Delgado's vehicle and arrested him for attempted homicide.

The condition of the victim has not been released.
