UPDATE: One Dead After Truck Plunges Into Clarksburg Canal
CLARKSBURG (CBS13) – One person is confirmed dead after a vehicle plunged into a Clarksburg drainage canal Tuesday morning.
The accident was first reported around 6:05 a.m. on Willow Point Road.
Firefighters from the Clarksburg Fire Department and CHP units responded and located an overturned truck in a drainage ditch with a body inside.
Rescue divers were called to recover the victim.
Investigators are looking into the possibility that alcohol may have been a factor in the accident.
The victim's name has not been released.
