Pre-Flight Lounge Has New Lease On Life In Old Bank Vault After Losing Site To Sacramento Kings Arena
SACRAMENTO (CBS13) — It's a new lease on life for an old favorite that was forced to close because of construction on the new Sacramento Kings arena.
The owners of the Pre-Flight Lounge are celebrating a new location not far from the old location of the 42-year-old Sacramento staple.
It may not seem inviting now, but behind a door on 10th Street and inside an old bank basement, the lounge will make its return.
Owner Jason Yee was forced to close it in April when it was bulldozed along with the rest of Downtown Plaza to make way for the sparkling new arena that will house the Kings.
Now, six months later, the city is approving the new spot. Yee invited some old bar regulars like Mike Rodriguez to see the new spot after getting new city approval.
"I've been coming to Pre-Flight for 30 years, so we haven't had a home for 6 months, so this is great its downtown, in a basement away from everybody else. our secret hiding place," he said.
The bar's front doors will be in Jazz Alley.
