Police Identify Three Dead From San Jose Nightclub Shooting
SAN JOSE, Calif. (AP) -- Police have identified the three men found dead after a San Jose nightclub shootout that investigators believe was a botched kidnapping.
The bodies of Antonio Allon and Manuel Mendosa were found on the floor of the Mexicali Club on Saturday night, and the body of Manuel Barraza was found in a nearby SUV.
Police say Allon, Barraza and a third man had gone to the club to kidnap its owner over a debt. When they arrived, they encountered Mendosa, who allegedly opened fire on them.
Police say Barraza managed to stumble to his SUV, where he died of his injuries.
The club owner, who was shot during the gunbattle, is hospitalized in stable condition.
Police are searching for the third kidnapping suspect, as well as the getaway driver, who could be heading to Southern California or Mexico.
