MODESTO (CBS13) - One person is dead following a shooting Monday afternoon near Crows Landing and Hatch Roads just south of Modesto, authorities said.

The shooting occurred around 5 p.m.

It's the third homicide in Stanislaus County in the last two days and the fourth since early Thursday morning.

Early Sunday morning, a man was stabbed to death at a party in Hughson. Later Sunday, a woman was shot to death in northeast Modesto. Her husband was later placed in custody on murder charges.

Last Thursday, a father was placed in custody on murder charges after the death of his 2-month-old boy, according to the Modesto Police Department.
