Former Sacramento Kings Executive Sentenced To 7 Years In Prison

SACRAMENTO (CBS13) – A former Sacramento Kings executive has been sentenced to seven years in prison.

Jeff David was charged with siphoning $13.4 million from the team. He went on to buy beachfront property in Southern California with the money, prosecutors said.

David pleaded guilty to the charges back in January.

Monday, a federal court handed down the seven-year sentence for David.

The Kings released a statement about the sentencing Monday:

"We thank the U.S Attorney for the Eastern District of California McGregor Scott, his dedicated staff of Assistant U.S. Attorneys and paralegals, the Special Agents of the FBI and the U.S. Department of Justice for taking fast and effective action to recover the stolen assets and provide full financial restitution to the Sacramento Kings while swiftly bringing Jeff David to justice."
